Multiple sources have reported that Juan Gonzalez has reached an agreement to play for the Long Island Ducks. Gonzalez is easily the biggest star to play in the Atlantic League since Jose Canseco and Rickey Henderson.
I have to admit, I'm looking forward to seeing him play. I never saw him play in person, and I never really saw that much of him on tv, since I'm mainly a National League fan. When I did see him, though, his power swing was something else. If nothing else, he should add some excitement to the League. I can't wait for Long Island to come in at the end of the month.
I'm not sure that I'm looking forward to asking him for his autograph, though…
