eBay Watch: Silly graded card auction

I haven’t been doing more than one eBay post a day, but I couldn’t resist pointing out this potentially one-of-a-kind item. I mean, when are you going to see another GEM MINT PSA 10 1992 Topps Kids Gregg Jefferies card?

It costs $15 to have PSA grade a single modern card (there are bulk discounts so the price could go down to $6 if you submit a minimum of 100 cards at a time.) So who’s going to do that for a card that most Beckett Marketplace dealers price between 25 and 50 cents?

This is may very well be the only copy of the card out there with a PSA-10 grade… and for the low opening bid of $9.99, it could be yours.

  1. Shockingly, nobody bought the PSA 10 Jefferies card.

I think I will take a bit of a break from the eBay posts for awhile, though. Looking for items for them is leading me to spend/want to spend a little too much money lately.

  2. Know the feeling! I often peruse ebay for odd-ball Darryl Strawberry gear, and always get the itch to place bids, usually just the lowest possible amount, figuring I won’t win anyway. Recently I’ve won a few without even really wanting the item! Ah… its only money, I guess.
