In 2006, Topps included a 20-card Trading Places insert set in their base set. Two Mets were featured: Carlos Delgado and Mike Piazza. (There were also versions with relics, autographs, and autographs and relics and those had different checklists.)
I got the Carlos Delgado card in my recent trade with Texas Rangers Cards. “Trading Places” is a neat idea for an insert set — at least if you have a decent number of star players moving during the offseason. When you have players like Termell Sledge making the checklist…
Delgado had a good year for the Mets in 2006, with 38 home runs and 114 RBIs.
I was thankful for the Termel Sledge card. I picked up two relic cards, gave him one and asked him to sign the other and he did. No problem.

Point taken. I’ve been happy that some head scratchers have landed in sets too.
