Bears axe “Stadium Of Screams” to focus on baseball

I hope no one was looking forward to the Newark Bears “Stadium of Screams” haunted house event very much.

I was invited last year and it was fun (and seemed like it would be even more so if you were a kid.) But it’s not going to be happening in 2013.

Considering that the Bears have not been very successful on the field or drawing fans over the last few season, focusing on the core product is a smart idea. However, the cancellation of the Halloween event is already fueling speculation on Facebook that the team is one step closer to folding.

I guess that we’ll all learn more about the Can-Am League’s future in a few weeks, when we see what the 2014 schedule looks like.
