I more or less overlooked Topps’ annual Bowman Draft Picks & Prospects set when it came out last November.
I got a few cards in a Christmas gift, and a few more in a birthday gift… and I started to wonder how close I was to completing the Mets team set. It turns out that I have most of the ones that matter to me.
The Mets have six players in the 130-card draft picks portion of the base set, one in the 45-card rookies part and one in the 45-card top prospects segment. They have the same eight players in the Chrome versions, and then there are three “common” inserts. (Here’s a link to the full checklist on Topps’ website.)
I’ve got the eight regular cards plus the Kevin Plawecki insert – I’ll have to find the Matt Harvey & Rafael Montero inserts at some point.

(Please note that if you are seeing baseball card images with rounded corners, it’s just an artifact of my blog’s theme – the actual cards have standard 90-degree corners.)
In addition, there are a number of Mets prospects featured on certified autograph or relic baseball cards that are tougher to find. (In some cases, much tougher: Draft Night Autographs have just 10 copies; Bowman Scouts Breakouts Autographs have 24 copies; and Bowman Black Autographs are limited to 25 copies.)

I haven’t had a chance to get any of them yet… I hadn’t realized that the Breakout cards are pretty decent looking, so I added those two to my wantlist.
FYI to you and your readers, I looked on COMC and it appears that there are die-cut versions of the Breakout cards, as well as this-fractor and that fractor versions. Doesn’t interest me, but I thought someone might want to know.

Thanks. I never worry about parallels – I only included the Chrome cards since Topps put them on their checklist (unlike the rest of them.)
