The Binghamton Mets beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels Friday night to claim the 2014 Eastern League championship.

Hopefully the New York Mets will win a championship of their own sometime soon.

Paul,

Winning in the minors, especially repeatedly and at multiple levels, usually bodes well for the parent club as (a) they have good players in the minor league system who can mesh together and (b) they have players who know what winning feels like and what it takes to do it.
