So I disappeared for over two months…. I got sick, went on vacation, did some other fun stuff and a bunch of boring stuff. But mainly I just got out of the habit of writing.
So let me ease back into it by sharing a few of the things I’m excited about from San Diego Comic Con.
Thor: Ragnarok
How awesome does Thor: Ragnarok look?
We get Hulk and Thor teaming up, and it even looks like Loki is going to throw in with our heroes to try to stop Hel from remaking Asgard in her own image. It should be epic.
We’re the same, you and I, just a couple of hot-headed fools.
Yes. Same. Hulk like fire, Thor like water.
Oh, we’re kinda both like fire.
Hulk like raging fire. Thor like smoldering fire.
Justice League
One misses the days when one’s biggest concerns were exploding wind-up Penguins.
Until Wonder Woman, the DCEU hadn’t given us any good movies.
I’m not sure that Justice League is going to add to that number, but I’m hoping. I’m really hoping.
I love Alfred.
I love that the new characters have personalities, at least as much as you can see in four minutes of footage.
I love that there is humor and hope in the face of darkness.
I love that Aquaman is not a joke.
Please be a good movie, Justice League. Please.
Pops
I’m fairly certain Pops are this decade’s version of Beanie Babies, but I still think they’re fun. San Diego Comic Con had about half a million different exclusive Pops, most of which were available as shared exclusives with different retailers so those of us who couldn’t go to the convention still had a shot to add them to our collections.
I found Harry Potter flying on his broomstick at Barnes & Noble last Thursday, and was able to grab one for me and one for a friend. Mom was able to get the last flocked Tigger for her Winnie the Pooh collection.
I ordered the rest of the ones I wanted, and they’re just starting to turn up. I picked up Bodhi Rook from Target today. Holographic Princess Leia and R2-D2 should be coming from GameStop, and Luna Lovegood and Clara Oswald should be arriving from Hot Topic later this week.
If nothing else, you have to be amazed at the variety of licenses.
What are you feeling excited about as we start this last week of July?
